Auesomely You™ parent advocacy programs are designed to give families the clarity and confidence they need to advocate effectively for their children—without confusion or conflict.

During this in-person program, parents and caregivers will learn how to:

• Understand the differences between IEPs and 504 plans in plain, accessible language

• Identify and communicate their child’s strengths, needs, and learning style clearly

• Use advocacy language that supports collaboration with school teams

• Prepare for IEP meetings with confidence and intention

• Ask for appropriate supports and accommodations without escalation

• Organize concerns, documentation, and next steps effectively

• Navigate school conversations calmly, confidently, and respectfully

• Advocate consistently without feeling overwhelmed or burned out

This program is educational, supportive, and designed to meet parents where they are—while helping them move forward with clarity.

2-Week Parent Advocacy Course (Express Series)**

Format:

• In-person

• 75 minutes per session

• Designed for working parents & caregivers

This 2-week course is a focused, high-impact advocacy foundation—ideal for schools that want meaningful support without a long-term commitment.

MODULE 1 — Understanding the System & Your Child

Week 1 | Foundations of Advocacy

What This Module Covers

• This session helps parents gain clarity around how the school system works and how their child fits within it—without overwhelm or fear.

Parents Will Learn How To:

• Understand the difference between an IEP and a 504 plan (in plain language)

• Know what schools are responsible for vs. what parents control

• Identify their child’s strengths, needs, and learning style

• Translate behaviors into support needs (not labels)

• Recognize common advocacy mistakes that create unnecessary conflict

Outcomes After Module 1

• Parents leave with:

• A clearer understanding of special education processes

• Confidence describing their child beyond diagnoses

• Less anxiety about school conversations

• A grounded starting point for advocacy

MODULE 2 — Advocacy Language & Meeting Readiness

Week 2 | Speaking Up With Confidence

This session focuses on how parents communicate concerns, prepare for meetings, and advocate effectively—without escalation.

Parents Will Learn How To:

• Use advocacy language that supports collaboration

• Clearly express concerns and priorities

• Prepare for IEP or 504 meetings with intention

• Know what to bring, what to ask, and how to follow up

• Advocate calmly—even when emotions are present

Outcomes After Module 2

Parents leave with:

• Practical language they can use immediately

• Increased confidence entering meetings

• Clear next steps for their child

• A plan for continued advocacy beyond the course
